About the Chinese in Britain Forum

The Chinese in Britain Forum, The Forum, was established in 1996 as a response to the Home Office Sellect Affairs Committe Report "The Chinese in Britian" published in 1985. It is significant that even in the face of a compelling government report, it took eleven years for a national body to be established.

The Forum's work is strategic rather than operational. It's focus is on identifying and responding to needs within the community, promoting the interestes of the Chinese community to government and encouraging the active civic participation of the chinese in British society.

The Forum is a regitered charity and a company limited by guarantee.
